It is Hard to Comprehend the Horrors

This is the most difficult pendant description I’ve ever written—because no words can truly express the horror of Canada’s Residential School system.

It was evil on earth.

Every parent knows what it means to say that our children are life itself. They are our everything. They are the future of us all.

And yet, over 150,000 Indigenous children were taken.

Taken from their loving families. Taken by force, by the government of Canada. Thousands of those children never came home. Every single child who passed through the Residential School system was harmed in ways that defy description. Every family touched by this system was left with pain that stretches across generations. Survivors continue to carry that pain today, and so do their children, and their children’s children.

This pendant is not just a piece of jewelry—it is a symbol of mourning, of remembrance, and of solidarity. It is a recognition of truth. The truth that what happened was not just wrong—it was an orchestrated attempt at cultural genocide.

To all those grieving, hurting, and surviving: I see you, I honor your pain, and I am so deeply sorry.
