Being a feminist today means actively dismantling deeply embedded patriarchal systems and fighting for women's rights. It means recognizing that women have been historically marginalized and denied basic rights and opportunities simply because of their gender. We're still fighting for bodily autonomy, wage equality, access to education, property rights, legal protections, and the freedom to live without fear or discrimination.
But feminism isn't just about cisgender, heterosexual women. It must also center and uplift queer, transgender, and gender-expansive people—those whose voices have too often been left out of the conversation.
 
At its core, feminism is about equality. It's about building a world where every human, regardless of gender, can live freely, safely, and with dignity.
