The NRA fosters a near cult-like loyalty among its followers, many so deeply indoctrinated that they resist even the most basic and common-sense gun reforms—no matter how many innocent lives are lost, how many school children are killed, or how many domestic murders are committed. The need for universal background checks, red flag laws, and assault weapons restrictions are immediately neccessary. Every month, an average of more than 70 women are shot and killed by an intimate partner.
 
This toxic association is not about preserving the Second Amendment. It’s about preserving a lucrative power structure—one that profits from fear, division, and violence. Until the NRA is held accountable for its role in obstructing progress and spreading disinformation, meaningful gun reform will remain frustratingly out of reach, and lives will continue to be lost unnecessarily.
